Sept. 5 Webinar With Sepsis Alliance to Build on Your Sepsis Interventions & Fulfill Mandatory VBP Component

September 5, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

As part of HCA’s Stop Sepsis at Home initiative, we invite you to a free New York State Health Foundation-supported webinar on September 5 (1-2 p.m.) with Sepsis Alliance Executive Director Thomas Heymann to help build on your sepsis intervention work, especially in the context of value based payment metrics.

As 80 to 90 percent of sepsis infections originate in the home and community, and with home care populations among the most at risk, immediate and effective follow-up by home care and partners can save health, lives and cost!

With good reason, sepsis is one of the state’s mandatory metrics for home care-MLTC value based payment (VBP) contracting. It is the number 1 cause of hospital 30-day readmissions and the number 1 cause of hospital costs.

Participate in this key webinar opportunity that will provide you with information on effective practices for your interaction across the continuum of sepsis care both in early recognition and treatment, and in post-acute, post-discharge care. Better position yourself to address this life-threatening condition and VBP contracting mandate, and learn more about the resources available to your health care team on sepsis to support the provision of optimal patient care.

This webinar will also position you well for participation in the upcoming All-Sector Sepsis Summit, sponsored by HCA, IPRO, HANYS, The Rory Staunton Foundation for Sepsis Prevention and Sepsis Alliance.
Thomas Heymann has been part of Sepsis Alliance since 2007, serving as a consultant, board member, and now President and Executive Director. He has led Sepsis Alliance to consecutive years of growth including the organization’s drive to increase sepsis awareness from 19 percent to 58 percent and the expansion of sepsis.org to a site serving more than 2.5 million patients, family members, caregivers and medical professionals each year.
Mr. Heymann has senior business development and operating experience in the commercial and not-for-profit sectors. He has also held senior management roles at major media companies, including A&E Television Networks and Lorimar Entertainment.
